I am told that a Naples area doctor commissioned John Cullison to create this painting. That doctor had the painting in his home for many years, and then eventually donated it to a charity auction. I'm the person who "won" this painting at that charity auction.

John created this Beautiful image of Moses and Elijah at Heaven's Back Door, as Mother Mary ascends Heaven's Stairway with Holy Spirits, around her. His home state of Florida is seen from far above. It was John's vision of what Heaven must be like.
As John's Personal Physician and Good Friend, He offered me this Painting.
It has been in my Home for 25 years along with other beautiful paintings by John.
It was one of John's Favorite works.
His untimely passing makes his work even more special to all who knew and loved him.

This John Lawton Cullison original oil and airbrush creation was painted in the late 1980's/early 1990's and is the sister painting to the "Apparition". This painting, also known as "The Golden Egg", assimilates the concept of eternal life, through spiritual transformation. The golden egg is a symbol of the beginning of a new era in ever evolving life. The end of the rainbow constitutes the never ending quest for spiritual eternity. The butterfly represents the continuing metamorphosis of life in the animal kingdom, while the banana fruit represents the same for the plant kingdom. The waterfall is symbolic of the perpetual flow from the sky, to the earth, to the oceans, and back to the sky.

The painted canvas is wrapped around a light colored wood frame, so all you see is painting. It is here in Naples , FL.
It was commissioned in 1988 by my husband who had John create it to hang in a 2 story stair well at my husband's house. He and John boated down to Keewaydin Island here in Naples and took the photograph for this piece. As I mentioned it is named "Moon Bird" and is typical of John's works.

Comments by the seller:
I titled this painting "Fleurs pour la Lorraine" (Flowers for Lorraine) in memory of my late wife who was taken from me in 2017 by cancer. But she knew my love for abstract art and agreed I should purchase this painting in 2011, from our friends with whom I have been friends since high school - so roughly 45 years! I have enjoyed this painting, as I do all abstract art - especially my own. And I hope whoever gets this enjoys it just as much as I have.
